As a former Vero Beach athlete, Perry was a 3-sport letterman and graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1985. He was a 2-year starter for the VBHS Football Team, and as a defensive back in football, earned All-District Team and All Conference Team for the 1984 season. Perry was also a member of the 1985 Varsity District Champion Basketball Team and a member of 3-straight District Champion Track & Field Teams (1983-1985).
