Formerly known as Municipal Stadium, the newly renamed Daytona Stadium is a 9,601-seat multi-purpose stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is home to the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats college football team. It is also used to host home games for the Mainland High School and Seabreeze Sandcrabs high school football teams.
Municipal Stadium became the new home for Daytona Beach Area high schools, when the City of Daytona Beach decimated Memorial Stadium, selling the land to neighboring Daytona Beach Community College, (now Daytona State College) in 1986.
For those who had the pleasure to view some gridiron action at Municipal Stadium's predecessor Memorial Stadium, "Who remembers the fiberglass seats at Welch Stadium? Ouch!"
