Damon Cogdell leaves Miramar HS to Coach for Alma Mater West Virginia

PUBLISHED

State Champion Head Coach Damon Cogdell is moving forward in his coaching career. Cogdell has coached Miramar HS for the past 10 seasons, guiding the Patriots to their lone state title in 2009.

Damon Cogdell played his high school ball at Miramar HS, a star linebacker for the Patriots.

Cogdell is responsible for establishing a pipeline between Miramar HS and West Virginia, putting many players from the South Florida powerhouse up to hills of West Virginia.

Coaches don't push kids to their alma mater; many times the proof is in the pudding. Recruits look at the program, and evaluate the success of players from their school/area and how they contribute and treated in the program.

His first official tweet from his twitter account read "Glad to be a Mountaineer".

And dividends have paid off for his allegiance. Shortly before news spread of his decision to join West Virginia, Miramar WR Khalil Lewis committed to the Mountaineers. The pipeline continues.
