NIL IS OFFICIAL: Bylaws Ratified by State Board of Education

(ORLANDO) -- Florida's State Board of Education ratified approved bylaws by the Florida High School Athletic Association's Board of Directors, allowing for high school players in the state of Florida to profit off their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Florida becomes the 36th state in the nation to allow for NIL deals for student-athletes.

Kool Moe Dee's hit song in the 1990's "The Wild Wild West" will sum up these initial explorations in a new frontier for Florida's high school athletes and accompanying support.

The bylaws were initially constructed to be specific, with details regarding prohibited activities from both athletes and outside parties which will serve as violations, with hopes of safeguarding exploitation of Florida's student-athletes.

This serves as an exciting time for Florida's student-athletes, but may serve as a source of apprehension for some coaches who may feel that lucrative deals may allow for poaching of some students to other high schools.
